St. Paddy's Day and Easter

I am so far behind it's not even funny.  I am doing St. Patrick's Day and Easter together since they fell in the same month this year and also kind of crept up on me.  The week before Easter and yes after St. Paddy's I made these cute cute block crafts.  Better late than never....right?  At least I will have them for next year.  Anyway I found the ideas here and here.  I just free handed the shapes and cut them out.

Since I seemed to be on a roll.  I made the leprechaun hat and the flower basket for my visiting teaching ladies.

If I were to do this again I think I would make the feet and beak smaller on this chick.

Valentines Pinwheel Pencils

Happy Valentine's Day!!!  For Taylor's class and Ivy's friends this year we made pinwheel pencils.  They turned out so cute!!!

To make them I just bought regular pins with pearl heads from Jo-Ann's and cut them off to about 3/4 of an inch long.  Then I used the Sizzlits Pinwheel die from Stampin Up to make the pinwheels and stuck the pin through the eraser.

Finished Product

For the "tags" I printed "Valentine you're just "write" for me."  From Taylor, onto washi tape.  Folded it in half and cut the end to look like a banner.

To print on washi tape.  First you type out what you want to say in Word or whatever program you want to use.  Then print it.  Then you lay your washi tape over what is printed as a guide.  Once you lay it down the ink will be transfered onto the tape so make sure it is where you want it to be before you lay it down.  Press all the tape flat making sure there are no corners sticking up to get caught in the printer.  Next insert paper into paper tray of printed making sure it is the right way to be printed on in the same place.  (For example: Mine goes in upside down top towards the printer.)  Just print the same thing again and it will be printed onto your washi tape.  IMPORTANT make sure that you let the ink dry for about 15 min before pulling it off the paper or it will smear!!!!!  Also don't leave it for too long or it will stick to the paper.

We had lots of fun making these and I hope all who get one like them!  I am wishing everyone a great day and a Happy Valentines!!

Activity Days Love Notes

I saw this cute idea and decided to adapt it for my activity day girls.  Since it is the month of love I thought it would be a great way for the girls to show their love for their family. Since we are on a tight budget I couldn't find any cute containers in my price range.  Instead I printed love notes on a lunch bag and tied it with baking twine.

I made my own cards to put with it as well since I was adapting it for Valentines.  I used similar colors and fonts but typed up my own cards.

I also found these cute Valentine notepads at Target dollar spot and Valentine pencils for the notes.
