Thankgiving late again.....

Wednesday when I should have been baking pies or something like that I was making cute table decor instead.

This cute 2x4 Turkey was so easy to make.  I the cute idea here.  I am sure there are many variations to this as well around the blogging world.  I just used what I had on hand.

I also made these cute edible turkeys for each person at our table.

Supplies used:
Stampin Up Sweet Treat Cups
Googly eyes
 M&M's

Punches:
2 1/2 inch circle
1 3/4 inch circle
3 inch scallop
1 1/2 inch scallop
Stampin Up Blossom Petals

First I punched a 2 1/2 inch circle for the base. Then punched 3 1 1/2 inch scallops for each turkey.  Two cut in half and glued on the 2 1/2 in circle.  The full one as the middle top and the halves on each side. Next I punch a 1 3/4 inch circle through the middle of the 2 1/2 inch circle for the sweet treat cup to go through.  If you don't cut your scallops in half there will be too many layers for the punch to go through.  (I learned this the hard way haha) Next punch out the large petal from the blossom petals punch in 3 or more different colors.  I chose to use red, orange and yellow.  The glue petals to back of scallops.  Next punch a 3 inch scallop or you could use another 2 1/2 circle to cover the back of the treat cup.  I used a small amount of adhesive on the front lip of the treat cup to secure into place.  Fill with M&M's or any other fall colored candy.  Remove adhesive backing and cover with 3 inch scallop.  Next glue on googly eyes and beak which I just free handed.

I love the way they turned out and the kids loved them as well....of course they were filled with chocolate!!

Apothecary Jars

A while ago I posted that I had found these great candlesticks at goodwill.  I am so excited that I finally turned them into apothecary jars.

There are so many great ideas going around pinterest and the blogging world for apothecary jars but this is what I did and I love how they turned out.  So this is what I used and how I put them together.

I bought these jars at hobby lobby.  I bought them all the same size although they come in a variety of sizes.

I built the tops with these wooden knobs and mini candlesticks.

I glued them on the lid of the jar with E6000 so they ended up looking like this.

I spray painted the lid and candlesticks satin black then glued the jar to the candlestick with the E6000 glue.

Filled with fun fall candy a beautiful finished product!!

Halloween late....

I know it has been forever since I posted last.  It seems like there has been so much going on but I am just going to start with now and move on.

We survived hurricane Sandy.  Power out for only a day.  Thank goodness.  We weren't sure that we were going to get Halloween this year and the kids were very concerned.  But Wednesday morning we got the announcement it would be on. Yayyyyyy.

Anyway I just wanted to share some of the decorations I made this year.
